Awards & Scholarships
Arts Access Victoria offers the Stella Young Award and Lesley Hall Scholarship each year. The successful applicants are artists with disability, who are deaf and have mental health lived experience.
The Stella Young Award is for young artists (16-30) with disability, Australia wide, who have demonstrated significant impact in disability activism through their artistic practice in comedy, performing arts or screen culture.
An award of $3000 is granted per year.
The Lesley Hall Arts and Disability Scholarship is an annual scholarship recognising the power of the arts to influence social change. Honouring the life and activism of the late Lesley Hall, a tireless advocate for the human rights of disabled people, this program supports the winning Victorian based applicant to deliver an arts project or artwork that highlights the experience of disability, promotes human rights for disabled people or advocates for social change.
The scholarship prize is a $5,000 grant and a 12-month internship at AAV, working with mentors to develop advocacy skills and networks.
