One in six Australians is Deaf or hard or hearing – for them, captions are vital to fully experiencing and engaging with film and performance.

Captioning is also a useful took for people who don't don’t speak English as a first language, in situations where someone speaks with an accent or in a dialect that is difficult to understand, or if someone speaks quickly.
