I am an Artist training and skill-sharing program is open for applications
I am an Artist is a new eight-week training and skill-sharing program for artists and arts workers with disability.
When someone asks, “So what do you do?”, are you ready to be heard as an artist? You don’t have to make it up. It is your story.
Led by AAV’s Artist Engagement team – Leesa Nash and Phil Noack – and supported by industry guest presenters, I am an Artist will connect you with your arts practice and industry experts to question:
- What is my arts practice?
- How do I connect with opportunities?
- Where do I see myself in the future?
When: 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm, every Tuesday, starting Tuesday 17 July 2019 and finishing Tuesday 4 September 2019
Where: Arts Access Victoria – 222 Bank Street, South Melbourne
How to apply: contact Leesa Nash, Manager, Artist Engagement on (03) 9699 8299 or email [email protected]
Applications close at 5.00 pm on Tuesday 2 July 2019.
I am an Artist includes both group and one-on-one sessions that respond to the artist’s goals, engage the artist’s skills, pose questions for artist’s interaction, practice the artists ability to self-advocate, witness the artist’s development and fill the artist’s voice with pride. Artists will complete the program with materials towards their portfolio, such as their artist statement and artist biography.
