Larissa MacFarlane

Larissa MacFarlane is an artist/activist based in Naarm working across a printmaking, street art and community art practice. They identify as a proud queer, disabled, feminist and use their experience of a 23-year-old brain injury to investigate  Disabled culture, community, identity and pride.

Their street art looks investigates their daily ritual of performing handstands, which is a key part of their disability self-management. Larissa has been involved in disability rights for over two decades. In 2017 they produced Australia’s first Disability Pride mural. They led 50 disabled artists to collaborate on a large-scale paste-up in Footscray. Larissa is the current deputy chair of Arts Access Australia.
