The Other Film Festival: Call Out for submissions

Produced by Arts Access Victoria, Australia's leading disability film festival, The Other Film Festival (TOFF) returns this November 2018.


TOFF is currently inviting the local, national and international community to submit the very best contemporary stories by and/or about disability and Deafness. TOFF revels in curating a program that challenges, entertains and informs previous and new audiences.

Run over three days, TOFF delivers a diverse program that provides filmmakers, festival enthusiasts and audiences the opportunity to watch, discuss and debate all aspects of disability screen culture.

Applicants must nominate from one of three categories on offer. These include International and Australian, Emerging Australian film and Youth Short.

Prizes include:

  • Best Film 2018 AUS$3000, open to entrants in the International and Australian category
  • Best Emerging Australian film will receive AUS$1500, open to Australian residents in the first five years of their film careers
  • Best Youth Short film will receive AUS$500 open to filmmakers 18 years of age or under

Closing date for film submissions:

  • June 15 2018
  • Early bird deadline May 15 2018
