Top Acts 2017

The grand finale of the VCE Season of Excellence 2017, Top Acts showcases extraordinary performances by VCE composers, dancers, musicians and actors. This year's Top Acts concert with be Auslan interpreted. 

Top Acts 2017 is a two hour concert comprising stunning performances by young performing artists. It includes contemporary and classical music performed by soloists and ensembles, scripted and originally devised drama and dance pieces.

The concert is a showcase of VCE performing arts students who have achieved exemplary results in the VCE subjects Dance, VET Dance, Drama, Theatre Studies, Music Performance, Music Style and Composition, Music Investigation and VET Music.

Getting there

The Centre is located on the corner of Southbank Boulevard and Sturt Street in Southbank – the heart of Melbourne’s Arts precinct.

The Sturt Street entrance of the Centre is the safest place for taxis to pick up and drop off. Our team can assist in calling a taxi for you.

The nearest tram stop is Stop 16, located in front of the National Gallery of Victoria. This is a platform tram stop providing level access to low floor trams, passenger shelter and protection from traffic. This stop is serviced by routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67, 72.

The nearest station is Flinders Street, located approximately 10 minutes walk from the Centre.

Three routes operate along Southbank Boulevard: 216, 219 and 220.

Limited on-street parking is available around Southbank or you can choose from a variety of conveniently located car parks when attending events at the Centre.

Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park (enter from Sturt Street) – 150 metres north along Sturt Street (p: 03 9281 8012)
The Australian Ballet Centre Car Park (2 Kavanagh Street) – 150 metres north along Sturt Street, then left into Kavanagh Street
Parking for people with a disability is available in both Sturt Street and Dodds Steet (limited spaces in both areas), and also available at all major car parks in the vicinity, including Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park and The Australian Ballet Centre Car Park.
