Networking
We host disability-led networking sessions for you to meet other creatives and connect with us and the broader arts, screen and cultural sectors.
The Gathering
The Gathering is a networking forum for Deaf and Disabled artists. It is usually held on the last Tuesday of every month (except January and December). Hosted as a digital first and/or hybrid event with a range of industry guests.
These sessions are a great way to meet other Deaf and Disabled artists. Find out about grant opportunities or other artist programs. Be part of critical discussions about the arts, screen and cultural sectors in Australia. Since May 2020, artists from all over Australia have met and discussed a range of issues. Such as disability leadership, art in a pandemic, visions for the sector, and much more. We have welcomed presentations from Creative Victoria, the City of Melbourne, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Emerging Writers Festival and many other industry guests. Highlights for The Gathering in 2024 are The Gathering at Alter State in October and presentation of 2024 Lesley Hall Scholarship in November.
The Gathering is a space for us to talk about what we’re working on and where we’re going. Sessions are always Auslan interpreted, and you can contribute as much or as little as you’d like. We invite you to come and join us!
