Dive into the world of digital art in this brand new studio. Learn how to use camera equipment, video editing, stop motion animation, sound editing, and more.
You decide what you want to work on or explore. This is a supported space to build skills and confidence in digital mediums. We will seek out opportunities to present work. This could be online, in a gallery or at a film festival.
Footscray Digital Studio is one of two new studios in Footscray. You can join one or both studios.
Footscray Digital Studio runs from Tuesday 3 February – Thursday 10 December, 2026.
It follows the Victorian school term timetable. This means it runs for 4 terms a year. Each term is roughly ten weeks.
Each session is six hours long. We encourage you to stay for the full session. You can take as many breaks as you need.
The Studio is a multi-art form digital studio. Explore film making, animation, sound art and more. We will tailor the program to the interests of the attending artists.
We provide basic art supplies and you are welcome to bring your supplies, especially if you are working on a particular medium or project.
The venue has a kitchenette where we will provide tea and coffee. Studio artists will need to bring their own lunch and snacks.
One of the best parts of the Footscray Studios is the facilitating artists and arts support workers. They are all established artists with many years of experience. They will be able to:
The Footscray Studios are a social art-making environment where artists work towards public outcomes. Studio artists work closely with local professional artists to explore and develop their artistic skills. Based at Footscray Community Arts, studio artists will be amongst culture and community. Artists also get to visit galleries, meet and network with professionals and be a part of the greater Arts Access community.
Footscray Digital Studio is at Footscray Community Arts, in the Artlife Studio Space. 45 Moreland Street, Footscray.
