The Salon is a new experience open to emerging and established artists, grounding us all in community and collaboration. Together we’ll be weaving the tapestry of our community, connected through yarning to create an inclusive future for us all.
In this session, filmmakers and game developers share how their stories have connected with audiences around the world. Learn how they told these screen stories and the accessible (or not so accessible) path they took to get there. This isn’t your typical panel discussion. You are invited to take part in a creative and tactile way.
Afternoon tea provided.
This session packs in multiple opportunities to have your say on what an accessible marketplace can be. Market leaders (directors, CEOs) from across Australia will be joining Deaf and Disabled artists to discuss what inclusion for pitching, presenting and spaces means to them. There are many ways to contribute, including:
– Phone for voice messaging
– Writing stations
– Relaxed space for quiet contemplation
– Spaces inside and outside
– Industry experts for questions
– Community guides who want to make sure your voice is heard
You can move from station to station. Don’t miss out on this co-design for the future of Deaf and Disabled creatives across Australia.
Audio Describer Guides will be available during this event.
Service Dogs will have access to artificial grass in Fed Square or real grass between Fed Square and the River. Companion animals welcome.
The Edge has sunken steps inside this room so not everyone will be able to access all levels, however all will be able to experience the sessions.
At this event there will be access to a quiet space and various calm spaces.
