Creative Access Workshop

How can we define ‘creative access’? What is best practice for creating accessible works?

Performers Chelle Destefano, Zya Kane and Pearl Blackk performing in front of a shipping container. Chelle is signing the word see.

This event has been postponed.

Combining mindfulness and exploration with Deaf and Disabled peers, this workshop explores authenticity and new ways to embed lived experience.

Led by facilitator Pearl Blackk, this two-hour workshop is a gentle process in building collective trust to explore big questions about access in a playful, creative way.

Pearl Blackk’s inclusive arts practice is based on the principle of establishing Deaf and Disabled alliance and advocacy through community, co-created artistic outcomes and lived experience.

This workshop is part of Melbourne Fringe’s Radical Access program, presented in partnership with Arts Access Victoria. The program is a 10-year social change project between Melbourne Fringe and Arts Access Victoria. We want to imagine a radical version of best practice accessibility across the independent arts sector.

Please register with Melbourne Fringe if you would like to attend the workshop.  Auslan interpretation and Audio Description is available upon request. Please let Fringe know your access requirements when registering.

Warning: Contains high level of audience participation
