Radical Questions
The Future of Accessibility in the Arts
How can we, as an arts sector, place access at the centre of everything we do? What is a radical version of best practice accessibility? Join the discussion at this session, it’s less of a Q&A and more of a Q&Q, as we set our sights on the next decade of striving towards universal access in the arts.
This online discussion is with Caroline Bowditch (CEO of Arts Access Victoria), Carly Findlay (Access Advisor at Melbourne Fringe), Madeleine Little (Director of Undercover Artist Festival) , Joshua Pether (independent artist) and Andi Snelling (independent artist). It will deliver industry-leading insights on the future of access and inclusion in the arts. Hear their experiences of the past and their imaginative visions for the future. And you can pose your own questions to the panel.
How can we move beyond providing access services, towards an access mentality? What could an accessible funding body look like? What is intersectional accessibility? We invite you to ask questions around accessibility in the arts. We expect it will lead to more questions for the industry. We don’t have the answers but asking the questions gives us an opportunity to shape the future of the arts.
This session is the first event under Melbourne Fringe’s new Radical Access program. The program is a 10-year social change project between Melbourne Fringe and Arts Access Victoria. We want to imagine a radical version of best practice accessibility across the independent arts sector.
Please register with Melbourne Fringe who will send you the information of how to access the online event on the day.
Warning: Contains some infrequent/low pressure audience interaction
