We will help you learn new skills and give you the resources to create new works and new friends!

Future Reset – Maker Space is a series of free in person and online visual and digital arts workshops. Future Reset – Maker Space is for young Deaf and Disabled people aged 18 – 25 at any skill level. Beginners welcome! This is a safe space for making art, socialising and creating community with your peers.

What to Expect

We are running taster workshops for Future Reset – Maker Space this October! This is your chance to test out Maker Space! We will run the full program in 2024.

This October each workshop will:

  • focus on different mediums
  • be facilitated by an established Deaf and Disabled artist
  • give you access to creative spaces to make art and connect

Visual Arts Workshops

In person

Air dry clay workshop with Pey Chi – Saturday 7 October

Illustration/drawing with Chelle Destefano – Saturday 21 October

When: Saturday 7 and 21 October 11:30 am – 3 pm. The formal workshop will run for the first 2 hours with a half hour break. The last hour is free time to make art and socialise.

Where: SIGNAL, Flinders Walk in Melbourne’s CBD

Online

When: Air dry clay workshop with Pey Chi Online on Zoom – Thursday 2 November, 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm 

Illustration/drawing with Chelle Online on Zoom – Wednesday 25 Oct, 6 – 8 pm

Digital Arts Workshop

In Person

Guest facilitating artist Geryon will help you explore the basics of editing sound in Ableton Live. You will learn how sound can enhance your visual arts practice. Ableton Live is a powerful program for editing sound used by many musicians and artists. If you’re curious about sound editing or want to experiment with sound, come along!

When: Saturday 14 October, 11:30 am – 3 pm. The formal workshop will run for the first 2 hours with a half hour break. The last hour is free time to make art and socialise.

Where: The Channel, Arts Centre Melbourne

Online

When: Wednesday 18 October, 6 pm – 8 pm

Future Reset – Maker Space is open to Deaf and Disabled people aged 18 – 25 who live in Victoria.
