Shining a light into the darkness

Artstop present an exhibition of new works.

Two painted dragons in oranges, greens, greys and yellows on a white hill against a black sky.

Josephine Lazidis, Dancing Dragons , 2023.

Shining a light into the darkness references a journey. One that all artists take to find their creative voice. It also speaks to the benefits of art on individuals’ mental health. Shining the light into the darkness exposes the shadows within us. The exhibition banishes these shadows and gives us a clear path forward. The artists interrogate the darkness and their place in the world. They assert control over their world. They frame it, explore it, understand it and they sometimes mask it with their arts practice.

There is an opening celebration on Thursday 11 May from 6 pm – 8 pm. The event is Auslan interpreted.
