A Special General Meeting of Arts Access Society Inc (“Arts Access Victoria”) will be held online on Tuesday 13 October 2026 at 6 pm.

The purpose of this Special General Meeting is to vote on a special resolution to make amendments to the Arts Access Victoria Rules of Association (“Rules”). The proposed special resolutions are set out below:

Resolution 1

The Rules are to be amended as per the draft provided to members alongside this notice to update the Rule Book in keeping with its legal obligations.

Resolution 2

The Rules are to incorporate an Acknowledgement of Country, as follows, or as otherwise decided by the Members at the Special General Meeting:

“Arts Access Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters within Victoria, on which we work, practice and advocate.

We recognise their continuing connection to their land, waters, and community, and pay our respects to their Elders and all First Nations Elders past and present.

As an organisation, we commit to listening, learning, and walking alongside First Nations peoples, and to continue to support self-determination and just recognition.

We also acknowledge the significant and ongoing contribution of First Nations artists to our community and culture.”

Purpose of the Resolutions

The main intention of the proposed amendments to the Rules is ensure the Rules:

  • consider diverse representation within the Committee,
  • require committee operations remain accessible, and
  • are compliant with relevant legislation, in particular that legislation relating to DGR status and establishment as an Association.
  • An Acknowledgement of Country is also proposed as an addition to the Rule Book
