Heather White is a multidisciplinary artist who works across installation, collage, fashion, weaving, crochet, sound, and performance. For her recent project “Heather City”, she worked on assembling an imaginative city using mixed media objects that she collected over the years. Her style is brightly coloured, quirky, and eclectic. Heather works with wool, and sculpture made from objects from the Reject Shop, the 2 Dollar Shop, K-Mart, and Target. Inspired by her imagination, Heather City is about her life, her family, and her two mums. Heather is a collector. Her art is colourful and 3D. She likes googly eyes. She makes music. She wears her art. She makes clothes, including headbands, is interested in textiles, and likes frogs. “I like to show off and I like to stand out and look colourful.” Heather is also a leader and a teacher in the Art Day South group, as well as a bowler in the Special Olympics.
