John Lowndes

JOHN LOWNDES has lived and worked all around Australia and the world. He has worked in a multitude of areas of the Film & Television industry culminating in becoming a Producer/Director working for the BBC, ABC, SBS, Broadcom Ch 10, Film Australia, VAC, AFAO, and corporate work under his own name Lowndes Productions. John’s film work also includes short films in MIFF and Spoleto Fringe Film fest, and producing the very first Gay condom commercial.

Event management is something John  fell into when volunteering for Non-profits in London and VAC, mounting warehouse parties, Gay film nights at the Astor as fundraisers, and for a fee at Green Peace, Vic Housing Week 2009. He now runs Park Towers Tenants Management, an all-volunteer public tenants organisation which fights the good fight.

John has worked in and around many forms of the arts and design especially in his second major career as a Building Project Manager and Designer.

John studied post grad in film at Swinburne University, and has featured in numerous magazines and a full-page spread in The Age.
