What kind of art do you make?

Lighting Design.

How long have you been making art?

Sidney has been working freelance across a broad range of genres and performances since graduating in 2021 from the BFA (Design and Production) degree at the Victorian College of the Arts, where he was awarded the Cassidy Bequest Scholarship.

Sidney’s past design credits include The Duchess of Malfi (Arrant Knaves), ‘Niusia’ (Kathryn Yates), ‘Uncle Vanya’ (Anthropocene Play Co), ‘Yiddish Divas: Into the Red Tent’ (Kadimah Yiddish Theatre), ‘Songs of the Flesh’ (Danger Ensemble), ‘Peter Rabbit’ (Small Crown), ‘Motherlod_^e’ (Frenzy Theatre), ‘Bach’s Universe’ (Aus Brandenberg Orchestra), ‘Still Buried’ (Kathryn Yates), ‘Monark’ (Scimm Dance), ‘American Opera Double Bill’ (Linda Thompson), ‘Macbeth’ (Bruce Langdon), ‘The Spook’ (Daniela Farinacci), ‘The Hello Girls’ (Jason Langley), and ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’ (Georgina Naidu).

What art are you working on right now?

Upcoming shows include ‘Parade‘ (Soundworks) and ‘The Human Voice’ (BK Opera).

What are you looking forward to?

Sidney is looking forward to developing his design skillset, stepping out of his comfort zone, and meeting new collaborators!
