Anna Zhang
Anna is a passionate individual who loves using her creativity and art to empower, educate and advocate for individuals and issues. She has always been someone who has loved art since being a kid, from drawing to painting to hand crafting her own things. When Anna grew up, she found that she could use her passion for art to help herself and others to learn and grow insight into things that affected both herself and the people around her. Inspired by her own mental health challenges and ability to overcome obstacles, she is using her lived experience to help organisations such as headspace to design posters (that have themes around mental health, seeking support etc) through art. She is also deeply fascinated with art therapy and its ability help the people around her feel more positive and grounded after her own challenges and wishes to persue and learn more about this topic. She also represents diverse and marginalised communities as a person with a disability to recognise their “Hidden abilities”. By creating art and publishing her own zines and posters in schools and other clubs and organisations she is currently using her art to challenge modern stereotypes of what people with disabilities can do! Anna has a particular interest in visual art forms such as painting and calligraphy art. She uses washi tape, brush pens (or paintbrushes) and a streak of her imagination to design unique paintings and posters. Her goal in the future is to turn her love of physical art and creativity into an app that can utilise digital art to express feelings and emotions to get support. She hopes to collaborate with other aspiring or current artists to help her reach her future goals as well as share her passion for art for those around her!
