Saint Ergo

Saint Ergo

Saint Ergo Create Music | Create Connection | Create Life Music has always been about creating connection and Saint Ergo is a post genre music project that at their core, is a deep desire to connect people to their best possible life. My name is Joanna Jones and Saint Ergo is a pair of loving hands that contain the art of musical connection that attempts to go deeper and explorer the intersection, the connection of us, where love and life are found. Within this art practice, there are many styles of music that cross genre boundaries but create a narrative of both the complex and simple nature of life. Stylistically there has always been a desire to combine all the elements of what I do as a producer, a songwriter, a performer and an arranger as there are elements of folk, classical, jazz, rock and pop. The common thread has always been about the journey of connection and the struggle for relevance as a creative human entity within our greater society. Diving a bit deeper, you may noticed that I use the word “their” to describe Saint Ergo. This is because this art practice is a reflection of my journey of discovery. I feel that Saint Ergo is an entity, a construction yes, but it finds them-self being a symbolic artistic expression investigating gender, sexuality, spirituality, grief and happiness. How as a human, we living with mental illness and being completely neuro-diverse. A discussion whether there is disability or different ability. If we struggle to participate in society as society is, does this make us disabled or is society excluding certain people that are deemed as being a burden. As artists we are born thinking differently and it behoves us to challenge the society we live in, to inspire it to be inclusive and find where the differences enhance us all. Pre-Saint Ergo, Joanna Jones has been a producer, a songwriter, an engineer and a performer for more years than they cares to remember. They have performed live on Australian national television on the reality TV show “The X-Factor” in 2016. Guy Sebastian, Iggy Azalea and Adam Lambert have all said terribly nice things about them. They have also been part of musicals, other peoples music projects and has released music under a previous name. http://www.saintergo.com
